Reginald Joyce

Reginald Joyce was living with his parents George and Eliza in 1911. His father worked as a labourer at the Brewery. In 1901 he was a farm foreman at Ufford. Reginald was born at Harringworth and was apprenticed with Woolstons as a carpenter and joiner. He was an only child and a keen football player.

He joined the 4th Lincolnshire. In 1916 he was in hospital and sent a letter home saying that he had been gassed and buried by a shell explosion. He had only been at the front for 3 weeks and had just celebrated his 21st birthday.

He died shortly afterwards and his death was reported on October 13th 1916.
