Henry Edward, born in 1898, was the son of Edward and Helen Dalton. His father was a butcher and auctioneer and had a shop at 17 St Mary’s Street. All the family were born in Stamford and Henry was an only child.

There are no military records and he may have been exempt as he was in a reserved occupation. He died in Stamford in 1967.
