Reginald was born in January 1900 , the son of William and Sarah Gilbert. In 1901 they lived at 40 Woodview in Bourne and William was a cycle fitter. By 1911 they had moved to 5 Stanley Street with William now was working as a motor engineer for Cuttings and Reginald had a younger sister Rose, born in 1909

Reginald was unlikely to have served in the war as the minimum conscription age was 18, he died in Stamford in June 1968.
