8th December 2015 Charles Taylor Born in Stamford in the summer of 1898, Charles Taylor lived with Charles and Emily Taylor at 1 Lumbys Terrace. In 1901 they were recorded as his father (a farm labourer) and mother, both from the Morton, Bourne area of Lincolnshire. The household also included their daughter Mary born in 1880 and her husband Charles Wells, born in Saffron Walden and working as a cellarman. By 1911, Mary and Charles Wells had left Stamford and young Charles Taylor was recorded as the grandson of Charles and Emily. As they were 68 and 69 years old respectively, being grandparents seems a more likely relationship and another grandson, Herbert, born in 1903 was also part of the household. Young Charles was still at school in 1911 and nothing further is known of him.
