8th December 2015 Sydney, born in 1900, was the youngest son of Walter and Emma Webb. He had an older brother – Walter James, who was 19 in the 1911 census. His father was a gasfitter working for an ironmonger and also a fireman. His brother was an agricultural engineer. They lived at 3 South View Terrace, New Cross Road. It is unlikely that Sydney would have had a military record as he was too young. He died in 1963, aged 64.
