8th December 2015 William, born in March 1897 in Leicester andwas the son of Wallace and Louisa Guyler. In 1911 he had two sisters Gladys May aged 16 and Doris Gertrude aged 10 and the family were living at 10 Princes Road. His father Wallace was clerk at a lighting company –probably Kitsons. He attended Stamford School and by the time he enlisted he was living in Sheffield and working as a clerk in an engineering company. He joined the Royal Engineers in December 1915 and was demobbed in September 1919. He applied to join the RAF as a Flying Officer but there is no evidence that he was accepted. He married Clarice Early in Eccleshall, Sheffield in June 1925 and died in Bideford, Devon in 1984.
