8th December 2015 Walter Ernest Laughton Walter, born in 1896, was the son of Fred Laughton a postman and his wife Emma, who had six children. Four of their five sons served in the war. Walter was the third son and in 1911 he was an errand boy. He enlisted in 1915 and served in the Royal Garrison Artillery in France and Belgium, by this time the family were living at 31 Empingham Road. He was demobbed in 1919 and married Daisy Humphries in 1925. Frederick Laughton Frederick Laughton born in 1900 was a schoolboy in 1911 .
