Sydney Miles

Sydney Miles was born in October 1899 in Stamford, the son of Thomas and Mary Miles. In 1901 they lived at 1 Cooch’s Court. Neither parent had been born in Stamford, Thomas was born in Wansford and Mary in Godmanchester. Thomas was a wood sawyer. In 1911 they were living at 7 Cooch’s Court.

Sydney joined the Notts and Derby regiment in 1918. He married Grace Wise in Stamford in 1925 and died in Stamford in 1991.
