Castle Street

Castle Street was a poor area of town. The two pubs, the Castle and the Prince of Wales catered for the people living in the courts near the river.
There were courts behind the Castle Street going down to Bath Bow. Eventually the street was widened and the slum courts cleared. Neale, a blacksmith had premises here.
