Ironmonger Street Most of the houses on Ironmonger Street were built in the 18th or early 19th Centuries.Probably many of them were built as shops with a shop front on the street and a side entrance to a hall and then stairs up to the living accommodation. They are substantial buildings and in 1911 occupants had numerous rooms. The people living in the street were established tradesmen and professionals.
