Lionel Roland Springthorpe

Lionel, born in August 1895 at Tinwell was the son of Charles and Kate Springthorpe,  Charles was a flour miller, farmer and corn merchant.

In 1901 they were living at 1 Rutland Place, Tinwell Road and by 1911 the family had moved to 64 Tinwell Road.

Lionel had two sisters Eveline and Violet and two brothers, Herbert and Harold who was killed in November 1915.

There were no military records for Lionel. He married Violet Butler in June 1922 in Sleaford and died in December 1980 in Grantham.
