8th December 2015 Percival Claude Walker Born Stamford 1899 lived at 11 Lumby’s Terrace, Water Street with his family. He was the sixth child and eldest son of Thomas Henry (tailor maker) and Ann who had 14 children. He was at school in 1911. On Easter Monday 1916 he enlisted in the 9th Northamptonshire Regiment as a Private and subsequently was mobilised and posted to France. He was fortunate not to be wounded and was still serving abroad in June 1919. After the war he lived at 5 Church Street.
