8th December 2015 Edward and Charles Thillet Russell In 1901 Edward and Charles were living with their mother Emily and William Russell and were step children with the surname Peat. By 1911 the two brothers lived at 19 Bath Row with their mother Emily and had taken William’s name. William was a labourer in a brickyard and had died in 1901, Emily was a charwoman by 1911. Both boys served in the war. Edward enlisted on October 22nd 1914 with the 4th Lincolnshire Regiment. He served in France, was demobbed in March 1919 and died in Stamford in 1957. Charles joined the Sherwood Foresters in 1915 and also served in France. He was demobbed in March 1919 and he died in Stamford in 1953 Their 1911 house – 9 Bath Row has been demolished.
