8th December 2015 John Webster, born in 1898, was the son of Alfred and Rose Webster, his father Alfred was a self- employed gas plumber. He had two sisters, Louise and Ethel and they lived at 1 Crown Street. John enlisted with the 4th Battalion Lincolnshire Territorial Regiment in 1914. He was 5ft 5ins and weighed 138lbs and fit, he was a turner by trade. In 1917 he transferred to the Royal Ordnance Corps and served in France. He was demobbed in 1919 with his military character stated as good. He married Lucy Dolby in 1920 and died in 1949.
